Philip Taulbee

May 28, 1945 — November 27, 2021

Philip Wayne Taulbee was born on May 28, 1945 to Philip and Anna Taulbee of Compton, CA. They later moved to Welling, OK. He parted from this life on November 27, 2021 at his home the way he wanted to in Welling, OK at the age of 76.

Philip is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, his Brother Leon & Sister-in-Law Thelma Taulbee.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home Jeannie Mae Taulbee, Sisters Karen Hoover & Mary Ann Davis, two children: son Sonny Taulbee and wife Carissa, and daughter Clarice Stettsman and husband Michael, six grandchildren, Brandon, Ashlyn, Tavor, Avery, Jeffery and Bowen.

Phil Taulbee spent his childhood in Welling, OK. Phil finished high school and then served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War for four years. He was a boilerman in the bottom of a large ship. After returning home, He was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Bro. George Sweet in the Caney Creek. He married the love of his life Jeanie Mae Moore from Grand Juction, CO on May 22, 1972. They spent their early married years in Welling, OK and had two children: Sonny and Clarice. Phil was a builder, craftsman, built and remodeled homes for a living. They moved to Grand Junction in the late 80's when Phil faced declining health. The move allowed them to be near Jeanie's family in Grand Junction, CO. Phil loved to go camping, spend time in the mountains, places like Campbell point, telephone trail, sitting around the fire, and given half the chance he'd love to try to beat you at a game of Wahoo also known as Aggravation. He was always the one who would prefer to chase you around the board and knock your marbles back to base rather than get his marbles home. He would do it with a grin and a twinkle in his eye. During the course of the next few years, his health continued to decline to the point that he was in a wheel chair. As Phil's physical health declined, Phil began to enter a dark place and a state of depression in many ways. But over the course of time, Bro. Larry Hudson and some other brethren began to hold church meetings in their home every other Thursday. And through his loving wife's faithfulness and prayers, and the meetings and hearing the Word of the Lord again, gradually Phil began to have his hope restored and you could see the change and he looked forward to the meetings. Phil was singing and testifying and willingly serving God again. God worked a great reconciliation for Phil and restored His hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Even Phil's physical health began to improve to the point that he no longer needed a wheel chair. He and Jeanie would go to the church house for meetings. He looked forward to church dinner days and singings. It was the thing he did and loved the most. Phil and Jeanie moved back to Welling, OK and continued to enjoy going to church and spending time with the brethren. Phil's mental health began to significantly decline to where he needed more and more help. During the last couple months of his life, his daughter Clarice and husband Michael and son Bowen moved to Welling, OK to help take care of Phil until his peaceful passing.
