Jeremy James

April 13, 1973 — September 26, 2022

Jeremy James, 49. Our beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend passed away on September 26, 2022. He was born on April 13, 1973, in Talihina, OK, he was the oldest of four sons given to Margaret and Warren James.

Jeremy was the most kind soul you could've met, and would've gave you the shirt of his back. You were never a stranger to him. He attended Inola High School, where he was the starting quarterback for the football team and also played shortstop and pitcher for the baseball team. Jeremy was a family man and loved them with all he had to offer. He was very proud of his Indian heritage being Choctaw and Creek. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and children, and do mechanical work on cars. He was simply the Jack of all trades and there is not anyone who could replace him. Jeremy had the ability to sympathize and understand people in a deep and personal way. His never ending encouragement and honesty helped those around him to heal and to find peace. His sense of humor brightened every ones day and his quick wit kept you interested in what he had to say. He had four sight and intelligence that he used to analyze every situation and circumstance to find the truth of the matter. His love for sports, history, films, music, children, animals, friends, and family helped him to find the answers that he searched for. He will be missed by everyone he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death, by his brother, Joshua "Sox" James and a granddaughter, Emma Atkins.

Jeremy is survived by his parents, Margaret and Warren; his wife of the home, Heather (Guffey) James; his step children who he loved as his own, Sarah Reagan, Brittany Reagan and Crista Reagan; his 10 grandchildren, Bryan Guffey, Kadence Guffey, Abby Guffey, Nevaeh Reagan, Alex Reagan, Felix Adcock, Mylo Adcock, Rhea Atkins, and Brody Atkins; his two brothers, Casey and Seleetka; his uncle, Nic Billey; his Aunt Silvia Dix and her son Jamey Dix; his nephew, Faron Cason James, numerous cousins, and friends.
