Ada Woods

May 22, 1924 — August 27, 2022

Ada Rue Woods, the daughter of Elmer and Effie (Waltrip) Guinn was born May 22, 1924, in the Robbins Community of Cherokee County. She departed this life on August 27, 2022, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 98 years, 3 months and 5 days.

Ada enjoyed life and loved her family. She was a teacher and taught for many years. She continued to hear from her students until last year. She was a fabulous story teller. She liked telling about her childhood, cooking at Wauhillau Outing Club, and her time on the Baron Fork Creek. One of her favorite hobbies was traveling. She would study maps and read books for hours researching her trips. She could still give advice on places to stop and see the best routes to take. She was a top notch cook and baked awesome bread and pies. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and took pride in her beautiful yard and garden. She made lye soap every year; it was best with goats milk. She believed honesty was the best policy, even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. She was a classy dresser and loved shopping with "the girls" (Adell, Vera, and Charlsie). Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to their visits and family gatherings. If they went too long without coming by, you'd better believe they were getting a phone call. She was her great grandchildren's biggest fan and was there to root them on for years. Ada touched many lives over the years and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Judge Rozell; her second husband Bob Crawford; her third husband Garrett Woods; her son Zeke Rozell; her sisters Loreta Johnson and Esther Scott; and her brothers Waymon Guinn and Raymon Guinn.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughter Cheryl Fogleman and husband Roy of Tahlequah; her daughter-in-law Nadine Rozell of Tahlequah; her grandchildren Allison Dillard and husband Rusty of Tahlequah, Arden Sampson and husband Terry of Tahlequah, Kara McBrayer and husband Michael of Colbert, OK, and Keith Rozell and wife Cindy of Broken Arrow; her great-grandchildren Dalton Dillard, Erica Hadley, Maggie Bruce, Ben McBrayer, Erin Lamons, Zeke Rozell, Emily Sampson, Ty Rozell and Synjin Sampson; and her great-great-granddaughter Cora Roze Hadley. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
