Alpha Bell

Alpha Laverne (Million) Bell was born September 2, 1943 to Gilbert Ray and Edith Gertrude (Eslinger) Million. She met Jimmy Marion Bell at the age of 12 when she began playing the piano at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church. They were married on December 16, 1959 and would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this coming December. To this union was born 4 children: Wayne, Joe, Deean, and Michelle.

Funeral Service will be 10 AM, Friday, August 16, 2024, at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Rose, OK, burial to follow at Teresita Cemetery.

A public viewing will be Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.

Alpha had many professions over the years, working at the local tag office, running an ice cream parlor, selling vacuum cleaners in Tulsa, baking wedding cakes, make up consulting, and making donuts at Daylight Donuts in Tulsa. Of all her past times, her favorites were spoiling her great grandchildren and making sure everyone had plenty to eat. She loved being outside and always had the prettiest garden in Cherokee County.

The job she took the most pride in was serving as a devoted Pastor's wife since her husband's ordination in 1976 and church pianist. She loved Jesus and could always be found praying faithfully for family and friends. She spent hours at the bedside of the sick and devoted time each week to help others run errands.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Edith, brothers: Albert and Alfred Million and sisters: Ahniwake, Anna Mae and Anita.

The legacy she leaves behind includes her husband, Jimmy, children: Wayne of Lowrey, Joe and wife, Laura, of Moodys, Deean of Liberty, and Michelle of Tahlequah, grandchildren Brooke Bell, Amber Smith and husband, Bryan, Holly Vann and husband, Justin, Candace Nottingham and husband, Cody, Johnathan Bell and wife, Larissa, Tiffany Paden, Erin Williams and husband, Trace, Daisy Bell, Keri Bell, and Leann Bell, great-grandchildren: Hayden Nottingham, Aidyn Brown, Wyatt Nottingham, Legend Smith, Dylan Nottingham, Ollie Pratt, Sophia Smith, Maverick Smith, Ellie Vann, Addilynn Nottingham, Tessa Vann, Aspyn Nottingham, Legacy Smith, Cooper Williams, and Caleb Williams as well as a Million family members, friends and loved ones.
