Archie Dein Collins the son of William Otis and Alta Agnes (Scism) Collins was born November 14, 1926, in Oktaha, Oklahoma and departed this life on December 13, 2022, in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years.
Archie married the love of his life, Wanda June Kindle, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1947 and they were married 69 years and 8 months when she passed in 2016. Archie was a Navy veteran and was very proud of his service. He served on two ships during WWII, one of which sank during a typhoon in Okinawa. He spent time on two other ships after the war and was discharged July 10, 1946. Archie was a Mason for over 50 years and member of Lodge No. 549 in Westville. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3698 in Westville. He served on the Berryhill School board for 4 years and on the YMCA board in Tulsa for 6 years. He also served as Brotherhood President at the View Acres Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time overlooking the valley from his home high on Proctor Hill. Archie was a loved man who touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wanda June Collins; his siblings Dewitt Collins, Mary Wanda Collins Doyle, Charlie Joe Collins, William Lee Collins, George Collins, and Donald Otis Collins; and his great-grandson Tyler Collins.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his children Lyle Collins of Christie, Hal Collins and wife Dianne of Tulsa, and June Elise Tweedy of Proctor; his brother Jimmy Leon Collins of Stilwell; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive him.
