Audjoy Smith, born on June 4, 1934, passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of her family. Audjoy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend whose kindness, strength, and love for her family will be cherished for generations to come.
Funeral Service will be 10 AM, Friday, August 7, 2026 at Hart Funeral Home, burial to follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
Audjoy was the daughter of Jasper Colbert and Clara (Harper) Piatt. She grew up with a deep appreciation for family and the importance of preserving the stories of those who came before her, a passion that remained with her throughout her life.
On June 3, 1950, Audjoy married the love of her life, Samuel E. Smith. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, commitment, and partnership that spanned decades.
Audjoy was a devoted wife and loving mother to her five children. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She had a passion for traveling and enjoyed exploring new places alongside those she loved. She also loved collecting cookbooks, always finding inspiration in new recipes and the memories that came from sharing meals with family. One of her greatest passions was genealogy research, where she spent countless hours discovering, preserving, and sharing her family's history. She took great pride in ensuring future generations would know the stories of those who came before them.
Audjoy was preceded in death by her son, Danny Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband, Samuel E. Smith; her daughters, Angie Papin and husband Paul of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Cheryle Johnson and husband David of Park Hill, Oklahoma; her sons, Darrell Smith and wife Lisa of Eldon, Oklahoma, and Richard Smith of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends who will continue to honor her memory through the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind.
Audjoy will be remembered for her generous heart, her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and her lifelong passion for preserving family history. The memories she created, the traditions she passed down, and the love she freely gave will remain a treasured gift to all who knew her.
