Betty loved life and she loved her family. She earned her Master's Degree and worked as a school counselor until her retirement. She loved art, and she taught art in school for several years. She followed OU football because her husband Buddy Burris played for OU in college where they met. They married while in college and moved to Green Bay, WI, while Buddy played for the Greenbay Packers, and lived there from 1949-1951 until the birth of their first child. They then moved back home to Oklahoma to raise their family. No matter the situation that arose in life she was the glue that held the family together. She enjoyed antiques, traveling, books and entertaining. Betty touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
