Betty Hickman

Betty Jean Hickman, 83, of Welling, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Sequoyah Pointe Skilled Nursing and Therapy Center.

Mrs. Hickman was born August 5, 1941, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to the late Steve Jess Livingston and Opal Oma Stout Livingston. She received her education and graduated high school in Wichita, Kansas.

Mrs. Hickman worked and later retired from Wal-Mart after 20 years of employment, making many memories along the way. She also sold Avon for many years.

Mrs. Hickman was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and also later attended Tahlequah Baptist Church. She loved to read, shop, spend time with her family and her fur babies!

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, James "Jim" Hickman, whom she married in March of 1992 in Welling, Oklahoma; her children, Deb (David) King of Tuttle, Oklahoma, DeWayne (Diane) Munyon of Clearwater, Kansas, Darlene (David) Hight of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Kenneth (Marsha) Hickman of Grove, Oklahoma, and Clinton Teague of Madill, Oklahoma; granchildren, Shane Munyon, Tricia Munyon, Justin Denny, Casey Munyon, Seth Munyon, Nicole McDaris, Larea Scott-Anderson, LaRissa Guzman, and Grant Hickman; her sister, Lana (Chuck) Outlaw of Wichita, Kansas; and numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mrs. Hickman was preceded in death by her parents (see above), and her brother, Steve Livingston, Jr.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 26, 2024, 2:00 PM, at Hart Funeral Home with burial to follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery.

A visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2024, 1:00 -2:00 PM, prior to service time.
