Betty Ray (Whisenhunt) Molloy of Salina, Oklahoma formerly of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away on June 21, 2022, at the age of 90. She was born on October 6, 1931, the daughter of Archie and Allie (Norton) Carroll in Countyline, Oklahoma.
Betty married Jack Whisenhunt when she was 16 and together they had four children. Larry, Rachel, Kathy and Debra. They eventually divorced and Betty met and married Ray Molloy. Betty and Ray were married until Ray's death in 1994.
Betty taught school for many years and loved every bit of it. She always enjoyed teaching children and watching them grow throughout the years. She taught science at Tahlequah and then transferred to Fort Gibson Public Schools where she eventually retired. Through all of those years, she amazingly never missed a day of school. Teaching was her passion and she took great pride in it. She enjoyed seeing former students, although she couldn't always remember their names. She attended and received her Master's in Education from The University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Besides teaching, She loved reading, she loved to go camping, fishing, do some gardening every now and again, quilt, and watch OU Football. However, her greatest treasures were her family. She went to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events and was their biggest fan. She loved her family dearly and spent every chance she got being around them. Anyone who knew Betty, knew she had to have her morning coffee and possibly another one throughout the day. She will be missed dearly by everyone she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Archie and Allie Carroll, husband; Ray Molloy, daughter; Debra Blackstone, brothers; Joe Carroll and Troy Carroll, great grandsons Andrew Whisenhunt and Easton Whisenhunt, and son-in-law; Larry Hahn
She is survived by a loving family, which includes her children; Larry Whisenhunt and wife Debbie, Rachel Franklin, and Kathy Hahn, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sister; Sherry Swanson and husband Wayne, brother; Danny Carroll and wife Judy. As well as numerous family and friends she leaves behind.
