Bill Thomas Scott the son of Tom and Pearlie Mae (Smith) Scott was born January 14, 1930, in Pipe Springs, Oklahoma and departed this life on May 22, 2020, in Cookson, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Bill was a simple man with simple ways. Born just after the Great Depression Bill was raised to work hard and take care of and be proud of what he had. He built his house from the ground up with the lumber that he sawed himself. Bill enjoyed hard work, but he also enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, cutting wood and talking. Bill could tell a story, and make it interesting even if it wasn't. You never saw Bill that he didn't have his Redman chew and a story to tell. Being around family and friends is what made him happy in life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 50 years Delores Jean (Buzzard) Scott; his brothers Homer Freeman Scott, Leman Scott, Tommy Scott and Robert (Short) Scott; and his sister Rosie Glory.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his children George Thomas Scott of Bunch, William Howard Scott of Tahlequah, Sheila Anne Scott of Cookson, and Greg F. Scott of Cookson; his sisters Grace Jane Thorn of Cookson, Evelyn Garroutte of Missouri, and Susie Holt of Tahlequah; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
