Birdie Forrest

Birdie Lee Forrest the daughter of George Everett and Mary Mae (Skidgel) Walker was born March 28, 1933 in Clarksville, Arkansas and departed this life on September 10, 2017 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 13 days.

Birdie loved life and enjoyed serving the Lord in many capacities. She was one of the leaders of the gospel band Seven and she loved music and performing. She played on the T.V. in the 1950's on a show very similar to the Grand Ole Opry. She wrote songs and recorded many. Birdie was talented not only with music but also with cooking. She could cook about anything and she loved cooking meals for her family. She enjoyed getting her family together and spending quality time with them. Birdie touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hollis Forrest; two brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Elona Borne' and husband Gerry of Hulbert and David Lewis Forrest and wife Donna of Hulbert; her grandchildren Alan Sean Ross of Tahlequah, Sally Lee Cummins and husband Robert of Tahlequah, Valerie Carter of Hulbert, James Paul Carter of Coweta, Samantha Hendrickson and husband Matt of Hulbert and Jhonae Jalbert of Tahlequah; and a number of great and great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
