Bobby Gene Jackson, or Rev to friends and family, was born October 19th, 1938 in Keys, Oklahoma. He was the son of Jasper Wesley “EIP” Jackson and Bonnie (Glenn) Jackson. Bob attended Keys and Tahlequah schools. On February 2nd, 1959 he married Margaret Ann Burgess in Tahlequah, OK. Together they raised two sons and a daughter.
Bob retired from Keys Public Schools after 31 years of service where he loved to have fun by playing jokes on his coworkers and the students. In his younger days he was an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing for crappie. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and family which usually ended in a game of pitch or a round of horseshoes. Bob loved Sunday afternoon dinners which commonly included beans, cornbread and fried potatoes. He always made sure that any trip outside of Tahlequah ended with a stop at Ft. Gibson for a bite of Charlie’s Chicken. Most recently he enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching cars go by. If you were ever going to Tahlequah on a weekday and got stuck in a long line of traffic, rest assured there was a tan Chevy truck setting the pace.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters Lola Shores, Juanita "Neen" Hayes, Connie Sue Jackson, Doyle “Bic” Jackson, and Lawford “Luke” Jackson. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons Bobby and wife Charolette Jackson of Keys, Oklahoma, and Herman and wife Janet Augerhole of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and a daughter Sharon Garner of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren Austin and Austyn Jackson of Vinita, Oklahoma, Amber Morris of Oktaha, Oklahoma, Chris Augerhole of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Katelyn and Colton Leedom of Fort Collins, Colorado, and his three great granddaughters Morgan Morris, Mabree Morris and Finley Jackson. He also leaves a host of family and friends.
