Bonnie Akins

Funeral services for Bonnie Arlene Akins will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Brandon Mooneyham officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Hill
Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. Serving as pallbearers are George Ritzhaupt, Gene Pierce, Heath Ritzhaupt, Shaun Helwick, Mark Hammons, Keagan Beard, and Brant Ritzhaupt.
Honorary pallbearers are Justin Lisenbee, Anthony Hare, Jordan Hare, Jarred Hare, and Packy Ellis. Flower girl will be Avaree Helwick. Online condolences may be left at www.hartfuneral.net.




Bonnie was born on February 19, 1939, to Ted and Jessie (Acree) Tincher in Tahlequah, OK. She went to heaven early in the morning of April 20, 2017, surrounded by her family, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 1 day.
Bonnie was a teacher at Norwood and Greenwood Elementary Schools. Bonnie loved teaching and her students loved her. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She handmade quilts for each of her children and grandchildren.
She also enjoyed fishing, baking, and making candy. Bonnie loved Kenny Rogers and listening to his music.




Bonnie married the love of her life Hershel Akins on July 2, 1958. He preceded her in death in 2009. She is also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Katie Brackett, Shirley Griffin, and Donna Beck and one granddaughter,
Jessica Lisenbee.




Bonnie is survived by a loving family which includes her daughters Linda Bedford and husband Tim of Roseville CA, Rhonda Ritzhaupt and husband George of Tahlequah, Teresa Pierce and husband Gene of Chewey;
her sisters Jane Ballard and husband Clyde, Janice Jones and husband Harold, Linda Johnson and husband David; her grandchildren Amber Helwick and husband Shaun of Bixby, Melissa Hammons and husband Mark of Tahlequah,
Heath Ritzhaupt and wife Kristina of Broken Arrow, Justin Lisenbee of Chewey, Jordan and Jarred Hare of Tahlequah; her great grandchildren Keagan Beard, Avaree Helwick, Brant Ritzhaupt, Ainsley Ritzhaupt, Kristin Hammons,
Kenzy Corntassel and husband Cale, Nic Hammons, and two great-great grandsons, Kyler Davis and Kade Hammons. She is also survived by many family members and friends.




Bonnie adored her grandchildren and great grands! They were the sparkle in her eye and the joy of her heart. She has touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
