Carlota Jennings

Carlota Jennings, born September 12,1930, in San Pablo, Panama, died peacefully September 30, 2023, at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, OK. Our blessed Savior and Lord took her home to be with him and her loved ones who passed before her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nemesio and Demetrie Castillo, of La Concepcion, Panama; husband John B Jennings, one daughter Eva Hix and husband Robert Hix, of Leach, OK.

 

She is survived by one daughter Janette Hayes and husband Mike, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one son, Randy Jennings of Conifer, Colorado. Also survived by seven grand children, Anthony Luper of Kansas, OK, Nicole Kirkland (husband-Robert) of Watford ND; Misy George (husband-Toby deceased) of Leach, OK; Tara Thompson of Siloam Springs, AR; Cody Miller (wife-Nicole) of Las Cruces, NM; Krystal Gore (husband-Caleb) of Bella Vista, AR and Jason Hayes (wife-Angela)of Fayetteville, AR; seventeen Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grand Children; Four Sisters: Dora DeZarate, Lucille Geyan, Olga Munzo, all of Panama City, Panama and Octaviza "Tavy"and husband Jacinto Caban of Orlando, Florida; One brother, Pillo Munzo and wife Xenis of La Concepcion, Panama. She also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and family friends. She loved them all.

Carlota grew up in a huge loving family in Panama and misses all of them so much. She attended school in David, Panama. Her ambition was to be an elementary school teacher. She met and married Chief Warrant Officer John B Jennings, who served in the U. S. Air Force and stationed at Albrook AFB in Panama. In a military life, you move around. In 1961, they were then stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK where she received her teaching degree from Phillips University. After retiring from the service they moved to Leach, OK 1966, where they raised their family. Good times, growing up on a small farm and teaching their children lessons of life, was their joy. She loved her family and was so proud of them.

She was a devoted Christian and lived her life in Christ daily. She prayed endlessly. Her faith in Christ alone, could save the lost. She had so much grace and love to share.

 

Carlota was a seamstress. Anything that had to do with cloth and a sewing machine, she could make. She made all the kids clothes, curtains and bedding. She worked many years for Bare Brand Hoisery in Siloam Springs, AR and Fabricut in Pryor, OK.

A few years ago, she was diagnosis with Dementia. A disease that has no cure and the effects from it, took her life .

 

A public visitation will be at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah, OK on October 5, 2023 at 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Fort Gibson National Cemetary, Fort Gibson, OK at 12:30 PM. Pastor Terry Wofford officiating.

 

The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Good Shepard Hospice, 1120 Neo Pl, Grove, OK, 74344.

 

Our family would like to express our sincere love and gratitude to all the staff and residences at Quail Ridge Living Center, Dr Dan Pummill, Good Shepard Hospice and the Sunday Morning Sunday School team for their wonderful care and support for Mom and our family. Thank you for your continuous prayers and rejoicing words. We love you all.
