Christina Ashley

Christina Louise (Ausmus) Ashley the daughter of Bobby J. and Geraldine (Harper) Ausmus was born May 14, 1954 in Whittier, California and departed this life on August 12, 2017 in Van Buren, Arkansas at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Chris had such a love for music, especially from the 60's and 70's, the Beatles being her favorite group. She also enjoyed watching old classic movies and TV shows. Even though they were played in black and white she was intrigued with the wonderful stories they told. They were romantic and emotionally moving and anyone who knew Chris knew that she was a very passionate person. She always said her favorite was "Gone with the Wind" due to the southern charm and romance of the time. Chris had many hobbies that she enjoyed, gardening being one of them. She loved flowers and planting different things, but her favorite was a yellow rose. Not only did she enjoy gardening, but everything about the springtime. She loved to watch everything around her bloom and blossom and smell the sweet scents in the warm air. Fall was another one of her favorite seasons; she loved the fall for its crisp, clean air that renewed the soul. These seasons always brought a feeling of appreciation of God's beauty and a sense of renewed closeness to God. Dancing, being another hobby she enjoyed, was an important part of who she was. She felt it was a way to express her. "I always felt the song to my soul and needed to move to the rhythm to express how the song touched me and moved me", she says. Along with her awesome dance moves, she would be laughing and giggling. Chris had a great sense of humor and a wonderful outlook on life. Chris absolutely loved being in love, experiencing romance, and having that euphoric feeling that only comes from the love we produce for others. Chris not only had strong feelings for those she loved, but an extraordinary amount for her children. She loved being pregnant and knowing she was carrying a new life inside of her to love. Motherhood was the most rewarding and blessed accomplishment of her life that she was happy to experience it five different times.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bob J. and Gerri H. Ausmus.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Jeremy Paul Scott of Tulsa, Benjamin G. White of Oklahoma City, Ashley D. Southern and husband Michael of Van Buren, AR, Jonathan E. White and wife Jessica of Lavaca, AR, and Joshua J. Ashley of Tahlequah; her sisters Patricia G. Hale and husband Randy of Tahlequah and Robbi JoEllen Foreman and husband BJ of Tahlequah; and five grandchildren Cadence, Camilla, Zachary, Madison, and Troy.
