Clara Mae Childress Martin the daughter of Thomas Nelson Morgan II and Thelma Ora (Myers) Childress was born February 1, 1939 in Spur, Texas and departed this life on April 16, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 15 days.
Clara enjoyed life and spent a lot of her time wrapped up in a book as she loved to read. She was an artist and had a Bachelor's Degree in Education to teach Art from Northeastern State University. She loved to draw and would draw her own greeting cards to send out for all occasions. She enjoyed crocheting, and loved to work in the garden with her flowers. Clara touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Nelson Morgan II; her mother and step-father Thelma and Buck Childress.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Carolyn Jackson and husband Troy of Tahlequah, Susan Mitchell and husband Byron of Tahlequah, David Martin and wife Angela of Ft. Gibson, Michael Martin and wife Mary of Tahlequah and Wendy Martin of Oklahoma City; her brothers James Childress of Fredricksburg, TX, Andy Childress and wife Pat of Gore, OK and Bob Childress of Tahlequah; her sister Barbara Weaver of Fayetteville, AR; 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
