Clyde Mcgowan

Clyde William McGowan the son of Orphia and Thelma (Harris) McGowan was born February 15, 1948 in Wewoka, OK and departed this life on May 7, 2016 in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 8 days.

Clyde graduated high school in 1966 in Coyle, OK, then atteneded and graduated from Okmulgee Tech. He worked at the Oklahoma School & Office Supply until he went into business for himself as the owner of McGowan School & Office Supply.
He was also a volunteer with the Spring Valley Fire Department for 13 years. Since moving to Hulbert in 1983, he attended the First Baptist Church but, in recent years he began attending the Methodist Church. Clyde was also a member of the Hulbert Business Association, Cherokee County Firefighter Association and Oklahoma State Firefighters Associations. He always made sure that family members who had passed were always remembered and recognized every Memorial Day.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.

He is survived by his sister; Donna Newton and husband Charles of Chouteau, OK; nephew, David Newton of Chouteau, OK; niece, Dee Ritch and husband Tim of Pryor, OK; special cousins; Mickey and Andrea McGowan of Hulbert, OK;
several great and great-great nephews and nieces, as well as other cousins and a host of friends.
