Darrel Cypert

April 16, 1969 — August 23, 2025

Darrel Ray Cypert, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on April 16, 1969, in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, Darrel was the son of the late Cecil Ray Cypert and Dorothy Marie (Rogers) Cypert. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Darrel's life was marked by a deep love for family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Steven Ray Cypert, his brother, Michael (Denise) Watson, and his cherished niece, Leanna (Travis) Stout. He also held a special place in his heart for his foster parents, Liz (Louie) Barron, and the young woman he raised as his own daughter, Jessica (Cody) Rhea. His legacy continues through his myriads of foster siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. For 18 years, Darrel devoted his skills and dedication to the Tahlequah City Sanitation Department, where he became well-known for his strong work ethic. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, and motorcycles. His courage shone through during his time as a volunteer firefighter with the Lowery Fire Volunteer Fire Department. Darrel's zest for life extended to bull riding and horseback riding, embodying the spirit of adventure in all he did.

A gathering to celebrate Darrel's life will be a private event.

In addition to his parents, Darrel was preceded in death by his girlfriend, Adonica "Donnie" Lee Smith, and his passing leaves a void that will not easily be filled. Yet, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who cherish the memories they shared with him. In this time of loss, let us remember the laughter, the love, and the adventures that defined Darrel Ray Cypert-a man who lived life fully, and who will forever be missed.
