David Henson

David James Henson, age 53 of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

David James Henson was born February 21, 1970 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to J.D. and Janey (Reynolds) Henson. He grew up in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and attended school in Tahlequah. David was many things, his favorite role was being a grandfather/father figure. He was an accomplished truck driver and a mechanic for most of his life, whatever it was he loved to get his hands dirty and work hard.

He worked for 15 years at D's Wrecker Service in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Any time during inclement weather he would worry about those on the roads. He had a strong work ethic and He loved to build and refurbish old things, work in the yard and fish. Being the youngest of his siblings David had a playful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and to spread joy any chance he got, often being quick with a joke or his classic smile. He understood what it meant to go without and would go the distance to help others with less than him whenever he could and would want others to do the same  

Survivors include a daughter Brenna Henson of Tahlequah, three Step-Daughters, Tiffany Milligan, Lacey Milligan and Summer Melton and husband Dustin, and his 5 grandkids, 6 nephews, 3 nieces and siblings Kenneth and wife Kelly Henson of Tahlequah, Amber Henson of Tahlequah and Dan and wife Rhonda Henson of Checotah, Oklahoma.
