David Lloyd

David Merle Lloyd, 82, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away on May 6, 2024. Born on December 28, 1941, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was known for his love of golf and his sense of humor. He was affectionately called "Bubba" by his friends.

David is preceded in death by his father Othel Lloyd, mother Opal Lloyd, sister Londa Davis, brother Gary Lloyd, and sister Sydney Karr.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn, his son David Matt, his daughter Allecia, his step-daughter Pamela Brittain and husband Danny, his grandson Justin Brittain and wife Amber, his granddaughter Ashley Davis and husband Casey, his granddaughter Sara Phillips and husband Keith and great-grandchildren Cade Davis, Payton Phillips and Scarlett Phillips, his nephews Stephen Davis, John Davenport, Larry Karr and nieces Andra Davis Fuller and Stacey Figueroa, and many great nieces and nephews. 

David's family meant everything to him and he loved attending family gatherings. David proudly served in the Navy from 1962-1968 and later graduated from Northeastern State College in 1970 with a Bachelor's of Science degree. His career as an employment counselor for the State of Oklahoma in the Tahlequah office spanned over 30 years.

David had a strong sense of civic duty and served as a Shriner, a 32nd-degree Mason, an American Legion vice-commander, and a reserve deputy along with coaching youth wrestling and baseball. He also enjoyed acting as a golf course Marshall at Cherokee Springs in Tahlequah.

Visitation will be held at Hart Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 PM. 

A Memorial Service will take place at Hart Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 10:00, followed by burial at Tulsa Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Shriner's Hospital in honor of David Lloyd.

Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements. David will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of love, generosity, and humor will never be forgotten.
