Dawn Michele “Shelly” Fleetwood, 63, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born June 12, 1963, in Muskogee to Larry Rex and Norlynn “Sue” Pearce.
Shelly grew up in the Okay area and attended Okay Public Schools. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1981, she married Calvin “Leroy” Fleetwood. Following their marriage, Shelly and Leroy moved to California, where they began building their life together and started their family. They later returned home to Oklahoma, where Shelly would spend the remainder of her life. Together, Shelly and Leroy shared 45 years of marriage.
Over the years, Shelly spent much of her time as a homemaker. She took pride in keeping a clean home, although nothing in that home was guaranteed to stay in the same place for very long. Shelly enjoyed rearranging furniture and changing things around, always finding a new way she thought things ought to be.
Shelly was a free spirit with a feisty and stubborn streak and a personality that was unmistakably her own. She knew what she liked, knew how she wanted things, and was rarely without an opinion. She enjoyed a good conversation and especially liked knowing the latest bit of news about what was going on and who was doing what.
She also had a creative side. Shelly loved to paint and enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts throughout the years. She learned to play the piano in her youth and would occasionally return to the keys just to see if she “still had it.”
Shelly enjoyed life in her own way and made no apologies for the things she liked. She loved scary movies, shopping, listening to her music turned up loud, and enjoying time with loved ones. Whether she was working on a craft, rearranging the house, catching up on the latest news, or turning up a favorite song, Shelly did things just how she wanted.
Shelly is survived by her husband of 45 years, Calvin “Leroy” Fleetwood; her three sons, Jimmy Lee Fleetwood, Calvin Fleetwood, and Micheal Fleetwood; and her eight grandchildren, Carrissa , Tyler , Aria, Rian , Gracee , Carsen , Callie , and Bentley . She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry Rex Pearce and Norlynn “Sue” Pearce, and her brother, William “Billy” Paul Pearce.
There will be a visitation on Monday, August 31, 2026, 3:00 to 5:00 pm, at Hart Funeral Home.
