Gary Dean Allen, 75, went home to be with God on Wednesday night, January 5th, 2022. Dean was born on January 7th, 1945 in San Francisco, California. Dean graduated High school and received a bachelor's in business from Santa Clara University in California. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy in July, 1967 and successfully completed Officer Candidate School. Upon completion, he served in Vietnam as a PT gunboat Captain. He completed his tour of duty in 1969 with an earned rank of Lieutenant JG and received an honorable discharge. He was awarded the rank of Lieutenant while in the reserves until 1970.
After his years of Naval service, he became a successful businessman in many fields in California, Colorado, and Oklahoma. He ran a successful Real Estate Closing business for many years and chances are you had the pleasure of closing with him if you live in Tahlequah and surrounding areas. He served with his wife Donna as they followed God's call and opened the King's Aid Station Mission and Church in Tahlequah, OK in 1984. This ministry continued to evolve and is the present-day Love Light Christian Center.
Dean was a devoted family man. He was a lover of all kinds of music. He loved to travel with his family, especially to the ocean where he was an accomplished Scuba diver. He loved to collect all kinds of things and on Saturday morning you might find him at a garage sale or local thrift shop looking for a deal. He always strived to live his life according to God's Word with honor and integrity in all areas. Dean had a unique sense of humor and showed it. Everyone who really knew Dean understands this statement and really appreciated this part of who he was.
He was a kind and loving partner to his wife Donna for 44 years, as well as an amazing father to his 4 children and 7 grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Adria Wellington and her daughter Rachel of Tahlequah; Damon Lipton and his son Vincent of Tahlequah; Josh Allen, his wife Ginger and son Isaac of Tahlequah; Jeremiah Allen, his wife Autumn and children Lilly, Kenzie, Averey, and Dylan of Tahlequah. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Allen, his mother Jane, and his brother Jeff.
Dean tried to love God with all his heart and loved to quote Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
The celebration of Dean's life will be held at Hart Funeral Home on Saturday, January 15th at 10 AM. His visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM at the same location on Friday, January 14th. His family will be present to welcome loved ones. Please send any memorial donations to Hart Funeral Home, 1506 N Grand Ave, Tahlequah, OK 74464.
