Deloris Ilene (Anders) Bruce of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022, at the age of 81. Deloris was born in Caney, Oklahoma and was raised in the Tailholt community. She was born one of eight siblings on January 20, 1941, the daughter of Brooks R. and Arla A. (Huntley) Anders.
Deloris was one of the brightest and sweetest people you could have met. stern, yet had a beautiful energy that was contagious. As many would say, "to know her was to love her." Deloris earned a Bachelor of Education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. She was a Teacher for 27 years and loved every bit of it. She taught fifth grade elementary and enjoyed shaping the minds of all the children that came and went from her classes. She even treated them as if they were her very own. She wanted nothing more but to prepare those children for the real world and teach them valuable life lessons. When she wasn't teaching, you could find her reading a good book, doing wood work, gardening (when the Oklahoma weather allowed her), sewing, and loved to watch any TV show or movie that involved a mystery. She was all around a gentle loving soul who would do anything for anyone. She loved her grandchildren very much and her family meant so much to her. She may have been a strict momma, but she sure enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren every chance she got. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; Brooks and Arla, as well as five sisters.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughter; Elizabeth Oosahwe and husband Andy, sons; Edward Thomas Bean, jr. and Timothy Brooks Bean, two sisters; Carolyn Trammell and Bertie Montgomery, her grandchildren; Christen, Brandon, Glenn, Shelly, Stephanie, John, and 10 great grandchildren. As well as numerous family and friends that she leaves behind.
