Donald McLemore

Donald Leo McLemore, 83, a resident of Tahlequah, passed away on February 21,2025. He was born on September 13, 1941, to the late Thomas McLemore and Martha (Spaniard) McLemore.

Funeral Service will be at 10 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 5 PM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home.

Donald was raised in the Lyons Switch area and attended Cave Springs and Sequoyah High School. He moved to Chicago, Illinois for a few years until he listed in the Army National guard, where he served from September 1964 to November 1969, he was honorably discharged as a Sergent E-5.

In 1963, he met and married the love of his life, Regina McLemore, they were married for nearly 59 years. Together they had four children and later adopted a son.

Donald graduated from NEO in Miami earning a Punch Press certification. He worked at Whirlpool for several years, before going to work at Cherokee Nation, where he worked in several capacities before retiring after 30 plus years.

He loved to watch sports, especially the Sequoyah Indians. He'd watch any sports if his kids or grandkids were playing. Donald spent hours watching baseball games, he would say he was St. Louis Cardinal fan, but his family knew he was really a Chicago Cub fan.

Donald coached alongside his brother a women's fast pitch softball team called the Cherokee Warriorettes and men's team called the Cherokee Chiefs. He passed the love of sports to his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ronald, sister, Margaret, son, Donald Jr., great-grandson, Scout Riddle, and a special niece, Ronnita "Sissy"McLemore-Bluebird.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Regina of the home, daughter Alicia and husband Kendall Ingram of Tulsa, son, Tim and wife Abby McLemore of Chewey, son, Kelly McLemore of Tahlequah, son, Jordan Henry McLemore of the home, and sister, Mary Alice Duncan of Stilwell, grandchildren, Tashina Shell, Taylor and husband Jon riddle, Brenna McLemore, Trenton McLemore, Jordan McLemore, Kenny and wife Melissa Ingram, and Randy Ingram, great-grandchildren, Logan Rill, Kaden Rill, Raegan Rill, Sage Riddle, Aryn Riddle, Jo Nathan riddle, Keaten Ingram and Avery Ingram, along with many nieces, nephews, and his pets, Duc and SV.
