Dora Grayson the daughter of Jacob and Eliza (Littledave) Arneecher was born March 22, 1930, in Mayes County and departed this life on February 22, 2021, in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, and 11 months.
Dora loved her family dearly. She married Sam Grayson on March 30, 1946 in Locust Grove and they moved and made their home in Muskogee. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and taking trips. She volunteered all over the community with different organizations. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Muskogee, she served on the board of the Girl Scouts of America, former council member of the United Keetoowah Band, past president of Da-Co-Ta Indian Club, and various other groups in the community. She worked for Cherokee Nation for many years. She managed and help found the Gift Shop and the Restaurant of the Cherokees. She was a member of the First Indian Baptist Church in Muskogee. She had a huge heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sam Grayson; and her siblings Sam Arneecher, Joe Arneecher, Ned Arneecher, Lillie Castro and Lena Cobb.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughter Joyce Fletcher of Muskogee; her sister Betty Gifford of Pryor; 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
