Dorthy Jean Crockrum Maxey, 88, of Park Hill, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at her home.
Mrs. Maxey was born November 12, 1937, to the late Oliver Smith and Myrtle May Guyer Smith.
She was a teacher/counselor and worked for Bill Willis Skill Center Vo-Tech for 30 years.
Mrs. Maxey enjoyed painting, gardening, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Most of all, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Cockrum and Mack (Okcha) Cockrum, Jr.; daughters, Eugenia Teague and Susan (Tim) Clark; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Mrs. Maxey was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Mack Ray Cockrum; second husband, Robert Maxey; daughters, Kathy Lynn Cockrum and Angela Dawn Cockrum Owen; brother, David Smith; and sisters, Irene Strupt and Libby Center.
Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2026, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dwight Mission Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma.
