Elaine Hinds

Elaine Adean (Brown) Hinds was born in Holly, OR on November 15, 1941, to A.D. and Lova (Hughes) Brown. She moved to Iowa and later Kansas with her family, and then back to Oregon as a young girl. She graduated from South Eugene High School. While in Wichita, KS she met the love of her life and future life partner when Wesley's sister introduced them. Wesley lived in Arizona at the time, and they had a long-distance relationship for the next four years. Elaine and Wesley married on November 20, 1960. To this union were born three children, Randal "Randy", Laura "Missy", and Marlene "Marty".

While she was raising her family, she cooked for a living to include cooking at Tahlequah Public Schools, various camps, and local restaurants. After raising her family she opened a business operating two childcare facilities until she retired in 1992. Elaine loved to cook, with cookbooks being some of her favorite reading material. She also loved to sew. She and Wesley made special quilts for each child, grandchild, and great grandchild.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, A.D. and Lova (Hughes) Brown, brother, Robert Brown, sisters, Ethel Lawson and Ellen Lawson. The Legacy she leaves behind includes her husband Wesley, of the home, children Randy Hinds of Fort Gibson, Laura Bell and husband Joe of Tahlequah, and Marty Tinsley and husband Chrys of Tahlequah. Grandchildren, Brooke Bell of Tahlequah, Kymberly Tinsley of Tahlequah, Holly Vann and husband Justin of Tahlequah, Shelby Hinds and wife Kayce of Tahlequah, Megan Ellexson and husband Zack of Tahlequah, and Chrys Tinsley and wife Courtney of Tahlequah. Great-grandchildren, Peyton Tinsley, Presley Tinsley, Malik Ellexson, Lillian Tinsley, Ellie Vann, Remadi Tinsley, Tessa Vann, Maddyx Ellexson, Vivian Hinds, Hayden Tinsley, Weston Hinds, Mabel Hinds and Myles Ellexson as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Interment will take place at Miller Cemetery
