Elizabeth Anne Ferguson (Libby Thompson), 61, passed away on September 3rd at her home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was born on July 15th, 1954 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Carl Earl and Billie Sue Ferguson.
Libby grew up in Tahlequah. She graduated from Tahlequah High School I 1972. After high school, she attended Northeastern State University.
Libby married Mike Thompson in 1980. They were married for 30 years before divorcing. Libby spent her remaining years with her high school sweetheart, Jesse Payton.
Libby loved OU football, movies of all kinds, classic rock, the books of Stephen King, and her cat, Ms. Kitty. She was a friend to all who knew her and could talk for hours with anyone. Her son William was the light of her life and her greatest joy.
Libby is survived by her boyfriend, Jesse Payton; her son, William Thompson and wife Mandy; her ex-husband, Mike Thompson; her sister, Lajuana Tinsley and husband Jack; her brother, Carl Ferguson; her nieces Alison Tinsley and September Ferguson; her nephews Shane Tinsley and Carl Ferguson Jr.; her great-nieces and nephews: Abbey, Emma Elizabeth, Ryanne, Hayley, Carson, and Ryan; and her many other friends and relatives.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Billie Sue.
Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Payton, William Thompson, Mike Thompson, Carl Ferguson, Carl Ferguson Jr., and Shane Tinsley.
