Elouise Ogle

February 8, 1939 — January 18, 2025

Elouise Donna (Conrad) Ogle, 85, was born on February 8, 1939, in Braggs, Oklahoma to Ralph DePalma Conrad, and Viola Audry (Sanders) Conrad. She passed away on, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Richard Starr Conrad. Surviving members of her family include brothers, Jim Conrad and Robert (Bob) Conrad, sister Deloris Rucker, sons Terry and Kevin Ogle; her grandchildren Marlyss Ogle, Layne Cadieux, Kaylie Graves, Taylor Sullivan, Wyatt Ogle, Regan Ogle, Carson Ogle; great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Hadley, Emry, Elias, Brooklyn, Oliver and Eleanor.


Elouise grew up in Stilwell and the small community of Moody, about 10 miles north of Tahlequah. She attended school, up the 8th grade in the one room Moody School House. She graduated from Central High School in 1958 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from Northeastern State College here in Tahlequah with minors in History and Home Economics. She married James Monroe Ogle, Jr in December of 1962.


James and Elouise moved to Thoreau, New Mexico in August 1963, where they taught in the elementary school for 24 years. She taught 3rd and 4th grades. During her tenure, she served on several committees and associations including fourth grade chairperson, track and field, PTA Treasures, Christmas programs, social and science programs.


After retiring from teach school in 1987 and spending several more years in New Mexico, James and Elouise moved back to Cherokee County Oklahoma in 1992. James and Elouise tried their hand at cattle ranching but found a more fulfilling reward in preaching and ministering at the Moody Church of Christ. Elouise taught bible classes for 37 years while in Thoreau, New Mexico and continued teaching at the Moody church for several years. Elouise's hobbies included painting, collecting dolls and antiques, gardening, tending her flower beds, fishing and spending time with her grandkids.


A visitation will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, 11:00-1:00 PM, at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
