Evelyn Sue Gilbert

Evelyn Sue Gilbert, 76, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away November 24, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Evelyn was born February 23, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Doyle Edward Bradley and Dorothy Evelyn Garner Bradley.

She worked as a cook most of her adult life in several different restaurants along the way.

She cherished her husband, Dennis Lee Gilbert, Sr., and their deep, enduring love was one of the greatest joys of her life. Those who knew Evelyn will remember the way she cared deeply for those around her.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sherry Lynn Martin. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of the family she loved so dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Lee Gilbert, Sr. of the home; her daughter, Tracie Bartlett of Oklahoma City, OK; and her stepchildren, Joseph Gilbert of Viola, KS, Dennis Lee Gilbert, Jr. of Viola, KS, and Amber Hallinger of Owasso, OK. Evelyn was also blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her pride and joy.

Her family will forever hold her memory close, grateful for the time, warmth, and compassion she shared with them.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the same love she gave in life.

There will be a graveside funeral service on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, 11:00 AM, at Blackburn Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
