Farrell Eugene Perry, 60, will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Born on March 31, 1965, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, he was a cherished son to Arthur Ellis and Lillie Mae (McCarter) Perry. Farrell transitioned to the Heavenly realm on July 10, 2025, after a life filled with adventure, service, and love.
The family invites all who knew and loved Farrell to join in a joyful celebration of his life. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Elm Tree Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather to honor his legacy. Burial will follow at Swimmer's Cemetery, a place he held dear. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place at Hart Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 6 PM, providing an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects.
Farrell was a proud veteran who enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from July 17, 1985 through April 16, 1988 in Berlin, Germany with an honorable discharge. He maintained his military status with the Army National Guard and in 2004, Farrell was ordered to active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Poly-Charkie, Afghanistan from March to August of that year, earning a combat Infantryman Badge and an honorable discharge. He graduated from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol 44th Academy in 1989, and devoted 26 years and 6 months as a State Trooper before his retirement in 2015. Currently, Farrell enjoyed his work with the Cherokee Nation Elder Care Program and considered it his place of ministry.
An avid outdoorsman, Farrell found joy in hunting, camping, and spending time with friends and family. His love for animals, music, and travel mirrored the spirit of adventure within him. He will be fondly remembered as a Cherokee Warrior who embraced life to the fullest.
Farrell is preceded in death by his loving father, Arthur Ellis Perry (Doc), and his cherished grandparents,and his unborn child Baby Perry.
He is survived by his beloved bride, Sherrie Perry; his mother, Lillie Perry; sons Guy Boland, Matt Boland and Tyson Boland; sister Leslie (Richard) Kirkpatrick; brother Steve Perry; as well as his uncle D.J. (Francis) McCarter, aunt Jean McCarter, his loved grandchildren, Rhianna (Ryan) Warren, Nykah, Nilyee and Maddox Boland and his little great-granddaughter Ruby June Warren. As well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
In this moment of remembrance, we celebrate Farrell's life, a life well-lived, filled with love and laughter. Let us come together to honor his memory, share stories, and support one another through this time, knowing his spirit will forever guide us.
