Florence Parish

Florence Parish the daughter of Sherman and Thelma (Murphy) Ownbey was born April 20, 1934 in St. Petersburg, Florida and departed this life to be with her Lord on April 25, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years and 5 days.

Florence enjoyed life and never complained about anything. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed the family reunions and being surrounded by her family.
Florence enjoyed hitting the yard sales, traveling, and she loved to color in coloring books. She enjoyed going to the different singings around and she loved going to church. Florence was a true prayer warrior and when people would call her to check on her she would end up praying for
them. Florence touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Sherman Ownbey, Henry Ownbey, Robert Ownbey, Richard Ownbey and Howard Ownbey; and her sisters Nola Kimura, Vivian Polsen, and Gail Jones.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband of over 59 years, Jack Parish of the home; her children Michael Parish and wife Deborah of Locust Grove, Patrick Parish and wife Soni of Tulsa and Tammy Jordan and husband Paul of Hulbert;
her brothers Frank Ownbey of Floral City, FL, and Marion Buck Ownbey of Boise, ID; her sisters Margaret Hall of Bronson, FL and Donna Fields of St. Petersburg, FL; a special friend who was like a mother Comanche McCraken of Hulbert; two children that she claimed as her own
Kathy Smith of Peggs and Stevey Jones of Hulbert; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
