Franklin Floyd Dunn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma age 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, June 13, 2021, in Muskogee, Oklahoma with his wife of 38 years by his side. Franklin was born on December 11, 1957, in Mt. Holly, New Jersey to Robert J. Dunn and Velma Sue (Wilson) Dunn.
Franklin was the eldest of four siblings. He was a graduate of Tahlequah High School, class of 1976. He worked with a pipeline crew after high school and for Walmart, Muskogee Country Club, Cherokee Heritage Center and NSU Cue Bowl. He enlisted in the Army basic training in Ft. Knox, KY and received his Honorable Discharge in July 1981. Franklin went on to further his education at Northeastern State University where he majored in Environmental Engineering with a minor in U.S. History. He was on the President's Honor Roll in 1992-1994.
Franklin married the love of his life and best friend Carolyn Jean Jumper on December 12, 1982. Franklin had one Son, Jason Floyd Dunn and three Daughters, Kristen Cherie' Dunn, Amanda Ellen Dunn and Haley Mae Dunn. Franklin loved to go on road trips and there would be no telling where you would end up at. That was the best part, and usually there was some history about the place he would educate you on. He loved to cook out with his family and listening to Pink Floyd. He was also a talented air guitarist. His wife was his biggest fan. Franklin's health was beginning to fail him in 1995 and he never let it keep him down and in February 2021 he was diagnosed with liver cancer that had already spread to his lungs and he chose to not have any treatments due to his other health conditions. He fought hard as long as he could for his wife and children and his grandchildren.
Franklin was predeceased by his parents and one son.
Those that survive him and carry on his memory are his wife Carolyn Jean Dunn of the home. His Son, Jason Floyd Dunn and wife Jennifer of Bixby, Oklahoma; His Daughters, Kristen Cherie' Dunn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Amanda Ellen Dunn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Haley Mae Dunn of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. His legacy will live on through his Grandchildren; Jeriah Kaden Scott; Kamea Cherie' Pritchett; Kinsey Briana Pritchett; Keeyan Taylor Kingfisher; Rylie Marie Dunn and Roman Vaughn Dunn.
