Gary Lee Clinton, 74, of Hulbert, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at home with his family by his side.
Gary was born on February 16, 1950, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Donald and Rita Clinton. He graduated from Hulbert High School in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Harris, stepfather, Jerry Harris, and his father, Donald Clinton, two brothers, Larry and Dale Clinton, and a nephew, Michael Clinton.
He met the love of his life, Phyllis Copeland in 1967 and were united in marriage on February 14, 1969. They lived in Hulbert where their four boys grew up and graduated high school.
Gary was a deacon at Harvest Time Tabernacle Church for many years and was the pastor for the last two years. In his early life, he worked for Ironworkers Local 584 in Tulsa. He also worked and helped with the construction of Spring Hollow Feed Mill. Later, he became a welding contractor before retirement.
He had a love for horses and spent time shoeing horses for many neighbors, family, and friends. He enjoyed visiting other churches, worshiping and fellowshipping with them, and met a lot of wonderful people who became like family.
His hobbies include family get-togethers, gardening, reading his bible, and watching OU. He was a faithful Christian and lived his testimony. He was easy to love and loved unconditionally.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Clinton; one brother, Mike Clinton and his wife Anita; four sons, Gary Clinton and his wife, Stacy, Andrew Clinton and his wife, Marsha, Timmy Clinton and his wife, Stephanie, and Billy Clinton. He was a grandpa to Chance and Race Clinton, Katie Eubanks, Wyatt, Rylee, and Chamberlee Clinton; four great-grandchildren, Braxton Trapp, Brynlynne, Ella, and Ruby Eubanks; and many nieces and nephews, and a host of loved ones and friends.
