Gerald Wagner

September 16, 1916 — December 27, 2016

Gerald Donovan Wagner, the son of Benn A. and Jane C. (Fuller) Wagner was born September 16, 1916 in Pequot, Minnesota and departed this life on December 27, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 100 years, 3 months and 11 days.

Gerald was a World War II vet who served in the army in India as a photolithographer. He lived a long and full life and tried to bring enjoyment to everyone with his dry wit. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In his earlier years he was known as a very strong swimmer. He was an avid reader and studied his Bible thoroughly. He enjoyed debating the scriptures and talking about the Word of God. He was a carpenter and woodworker. Gerald was a problem solver and he was eager to learn about anything. He owned and operated the Lakeland Color Press along with his father Benn, his brother Kenneth and another partner for over 30 years before retiring and getting into real estate and land development (in Minnesota and Arizona). He was a true entrepreneur and was not afraid to take a risk in business including a franchised restaurant in New Jersey. He enjoyed photography and specialized in scenery, flowers and portraits. Gerald was a gentle, soft spoken and loving man who touched many lives over the past century. He lived as though every day was a gift from the Lord. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Donald Wagner and Kenneth Wagner and his sons-in-law E. Dwayne Petersen and Harley Doubet.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife of over 75 years Anne M. Wagner; his daughters Kathleen D. Petersen of St. Paul, MN, Nancy A. Olson and husband Brian of Prescott Valley, AZ, Laurel D. Rostollan and husband Joe of Harrisonville, MO, Rabenn L. Inbody and husband Darryl of Norman, OK, and Jackson M. Anderson and husband Robert of Prescott, AZ; his son Benn A. Wagner and wife Karen of Prescott, AZ; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
