Gladys Barnett

Gladys Ann Barnett, 71, of Welling, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday September 17, 2021, in Muskogee, OK. Gladys was born on August 14, 1950, in Tahlequah, OK the daughter of Virgil and Lena Barnett (Stover).

Gladys was a school teacher for 30 years before retiring. She taught kindergarten through fourth grade. She even got to teach some of her nieces and nephews. Before retiring, Gladys would always say "I didn't need kids of my own because I already have several nieces, nephews and a lot of students."

Gladys had a big heart and enjoyed blessing people in need. She loved her family and was always there for them. She loved the Lord and was a faithful witness. Gladys loved her gospel music and enjoyed singing. She would travel every year to Shawnee and Branson, MO to hear different groups sing. She enjoyed volunteering at Tri Community and helped where she was needed. She also did the genealogy in the family to learn about all of her ancestors. She enjoyed spending time with her family and all her nieces and nephews. Gladys will be missed by all her family and friends she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Lena Barnett, grandparents, Medicine and Maude Stover, sisters, Ina Pickup, Louisa Kirk, Betty Barnett and one brother, Earl Barnett.

She is survived by her siblings, Keith and Diane Barnett of Little Kansas, Frank and Brenda Barnett of Pryor, Odie and Beverly Barnett of Salina, Mary and Alfred Madewell of Siloam Springs, AR, Kenny and Rhonda Barnett of Porter, Rosie and Pat Watkins of Rocky Ford and Betty Sellers of the home.

A visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on 2021-09-22 at Hart Funeral Home, 1506 North Grand Avenue, Tahlequah, OK, USA.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on 2021-09-22 at Tahlequah City Cemetery Pavilion, Tahlequah, OK, USA.
