Gordon Dwight Jones Jr, 52 was born in Tahlequah, OK on June 19th, 1969, and went to be with the Lord on February 13th, 2022, in Pryor Oklahoma.
Gordon was best known as Peanut and he had a huge heart for everyone especially those he cared about and loved most. He was a giver and loved to help others before helping himself. Peanut was a selfless soul and would do anything for anyone. He loved kids and always hoped one day to have a family of his own. One of his hobbies were making crosses of many kinds and giving them away, as he loved the lord with all his heart and wanted to share that with others. He also loved to dance, rhyme, and joke because he enjoyed making others around him laugh, Peanut would say... "it's all about the HE SAID...SHE SAID...". His favorite dance was called the "peanut shuffle" and if you have never seen it, you definitely missed out. Also, in his spare time he loved to cook and would always welcome you into his home with old fashion hospitality by wanting to fix you food or something to drink. He also enjoyed decorating his apartment, he would let you know he was very talented at it just like our dear mother was. In his younger days he liked to hunt, fish, and fight roosters. He was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by all he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his father Gordon Jones, and step-father George Denton (AKA Lucky) Knight, mother JoAnn Grasshopper-Knight, sister Cheryl Ann Grasshopper, and niece Robin Grasshopper.
He is survived by his sister Jan and Randy Grogan of Tahlequah, brother Lee and Catrina Primeaux of Pryor, sister Carol Grasshopper of Siloam Springs, brother Rodney Knight of Michigan, sister Sandra Jones of Kansas, sister Tammy and Darren Quinn of Pryor, sister Kerry and Murray McNichol of Inola, sister Katy and Brandy Toth of Muskogee. Also survived by many aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
What we will miss the most is your presence surrounded by humor, dancing, and laughter. We will also miss your handsome smile. We love you so much and will miss you dearly!
I'M FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void.
Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me.
God wanted me now.
He set me free.
