Granville Smith

Grant was born at home December 17, 1936, near Preston, Oklahoma, and died in Tulsa on November 27, 2022.
His parents, Frances and John Smith, had four other children: Edsel, Rayford, Blanche, and Vi.
Grant attended Preston School from Kindergarten through high school. He earned his bachelor's degree from Northeastern State College and his master's degree from The University of Tulsa. He taught school fifteen years and served sixteen years as an elementary school principal before retiring.
As a teenager, he loved to hunt, fish, and fly small airplanes. As he grew older, he added travel and carpentry to his leisure activities.
While in college, he married Nina Lowery, and together they had three children: Kevin, Jonathan Marc, and Lori. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Spencer, Andi, Jennifer, Cale, Jared, and Leanna, and he lived long enough to see three great-grandchildren: Amelia, Kennedy, and Laney.
