Irvin Hance the son of Archie Selby and Avis Esther (King) Hance was born April 15, 1927 in Clarksville, Arkansas and departed this life on March 21, 2017 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 6 days.
Irvin loved his family and they were the most important thing in his life. He loved to sing with the grandchildren and taught them several different songs throughout the years. He served in the Air Force and though he wasn't a pilot he got to fly a plane during his time. Irvin loved planes and enjoyed going to air shows. He was a piddler and he enjoyed old farm equipment. He collected miniature cars and had given them to the Cherokee County tag office where they were on display for many years. He was the original McGyver and could fix anything with duck tape and wire. He worked many years in Tulsa in the sheet metal and Heat and Air business. After retiring he helped Neil put up seamless guttering and anything else he could get into. Irvin enjoyed going around town and talking with people. He had a saying and everyone who had ever ran into him knew it, "If it ain't one thing, it's another". Irvin touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Sam Hance, Archie Hance, Bill Hance and Corrine Flag.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife Peggy Hance; his son Neil Hance and wife Janet of Tahlequah; his daughter Margaret Hance of Tahlequah; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
