Jackie Ruth Barnhart

 Jackie Ruth Barnhart, 73, a lifetime resident of Tahlequah Oklahoma, passed away February 26th, 2025.

Mrs. Barnhart was born March 16, 1951, in Cherokee County, Oklahoma, to the late Alfred Leon and Ruby Leona Eller Medlin. She received her education in Tahlequah.

Jackie married Jack Lesley Barnhart, Jr., March 15, 1968, in Cherokee County. Mr. Barnhart passed away February 9, 2008.

She was a machine operator at Fort Howard (currently Georgia-Pacific) for 24 years, before retiring in 2008.

Jackie was a member of Peggs Community Church in Peggs, Oklahoma. In her spare time, she enjoyed dancing, sewing, genealogy, traveling, camping, and just being outdoors in general. She was a loving, kind, and selfless person and was loved very much by all who knew her.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Sheila Robertson of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Christa Rhodes and her husband Mike, of Peggs, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, James Kelley of Tahlequah and Gunter Rhodes of Peggs, Oklahoma; a brother, Mike Medlin of Nashua, Iowa; three sisters, Donna Graham and her husband Mike, and Kathy Morgan of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Patsy Cox and her husband, Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, and a special friend, Bill Hendrix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Lesley Barnhart, Jr., an infant brother, Gary Dean Medlin, a grandson, Dustin Rhodes, and a sister, Carolyn Wallace.

Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 2025, 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 10:30 AM, at Peggs Community Church, burial will follow at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, Oklahoma.
