Jackie Manes

February 28, 1958 — May 1, 2015

On Friday, May 1st, 2015, Jackie Junior Manes, 57, was extended an invitation he could not refuse. He was invited to attend a most joyful reunion in his new eternal home. Surrounded by his loving children, Jack peacefully passed away at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.
Jack was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 28, 1958 to Troy Earnest Manes and Lillie Mae Manes. The fifth of six children, he always held his childhood home in Gideon, Oklahoma close to his heart.
Jack loved playing tricks. Most, if not all of his family and friends have been subject to his pranks at one time or another. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and the Great Outdoors in general. A man who loved to play in the dirt, he took great joy in his work as a heavy equipment operator and was extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work in, and explore Colorado, which was his version of an earthly paradise. Jack was also very creative and mechanically inclined. He invented a tree-climbing deer stand with a unique spring pin mechanism that was patented, marketed, and sold at a national level. Of all his accomplishments and all of the things he took pride in, his most cherished was being a "Poppa" to his 8 grand-children.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Troy Earnest Manes, his "Poppa," John Daily, sister, Brenda Sue Carpenter, and niece, LeeAnn Carpenter.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Lillie Mae Manes; his children Tamra Garza and husband John, Danielle Manes, and Troy Matthew Manes and wife Krystal; his siblings Glen Carpenter, Shirley Manes and husband Jim Finley, Pat Malloy and husband Steve, Carolyn Kidwell and husband Joe, Billy Manes and wife Mitzie; his grandchildren Savanna Garza, MacKenzee Manes, Ava Garza, Jaxon Estes, Montanna Manes, Glock Burmeier, Lexi Estes, and Greyson Edwards as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers.
To honor Jack's wishes, an intimate, non-formal memorial service will be held by family and close friends at a country location that was very dear to him. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Jack's honor may be made to Peggs Community Church, where he was a member, 6459 S Highway 82, Peggs, OK 74452.
In Christ, there are no goodbyes. Only see you laters.
