In Loving Memory of Dr. James A. Jarrell

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dr. James (Buddy) Jarrell, a beloved husband, who left us on 22 September 2023 at the age of 87. He was born on 10 December 1935, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He lived a life full of love, music, learning, and educating, which touched the hearts of everyone he encountered.

Dr. Jarrell's life was a testament to his kindness and dedication. He was a steadfast partner to his beloved wife.

A Professor of Humanities at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, a band program leader, and an example to us all. Dr. Jarrell found joy in playing the clarinet, fishing, educating school-aged students on music, and teaching college students' humanities. His presence brought warmth and light to all occasions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Coy E. Jarrell and Iva Jo Jarrell, brother; Carroll Jarrell, sister; Elizabeth Ann Pearce.

Dr. Jarrell is survived by his wife Doris of 64 years, brother-in-law, Jack Pearce; and sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Jarrell, Linda Rangel, and Norma Gibson. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

May he rest in peace and may his legacy continue to inspire and uplift us all.
