Janet Reasor

December 31, 1933 — July 16, 2023

Tahlequah

JANET E REASOR - Janet Louise (ESCOTT) Reasor peacefully embraced the arms of Jesus on the morning of July 16, 2023, in Tahlequah, her home for the past 60 years. She was a gentle soul that lived a good life from a good perspective to the age of 89 years. Janet was born December 31, 1933, in Cushing, Okla. the second of four children to Lloyd and Mildred (Smith) Escott. Janet grew up in Cushing graduating from Cushing High School while working part time in the family grocery store before going off to college in Gulfport Mississippi.

She returned home early in 1954 to wed Larry G Reasor, and together they shared 50 years of love and memories. Janet lived a full life and loved her church and her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Janet enjoyed cooking for her family. As the family was raised, she directed her attention to service for her church, Grace Baptist. She taught or assisted in a variety of roles with children from the nursery up to 1st and second grade for the better part of 25 years before the pace was left to a younger generation. She stated that kids say the darndest things and she always had a story to tell what one of the children innocently shared. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband as they saw the beauty of God's creation and they enjoyed the road trip on the back roads as opposed to flying because you got to see, feel and touch so much more of life. It should be noted on these trips her antique interest was more about shopping and less about buying. She enjoyed a good live concert or listening to music at home to The Gaithers, Celion Dion, Barry Manilow or Michael Buble' and tapping her foot to the music even though her feet barely touched the floor.

Janet passed on a legacy of faith handed down from her father Lloyd to her family which honors and remembers her today. Janet was preceded in death by her husband Larry G Reasor, her son, Jay Reasor and Granddaughter Jennifer Reasor. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Jeff Reasor (Mitzi) of Edmond; Brian Reasor (Dana) of Tahlequah and Alan Reasor (Felicia) of Catoosa. Her sisters Claire Gatewood (Ted) of Guthrie and Janie Rogers (John) of Stillwater and her brother Harry Escott (Rhonda) of Cushing; the pride and light that kept her going all her later years, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her church family and friends.

Janet will be laid to rest next to her husband at a funeral ceremony held on Thursday July 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of the Hart Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Janet's caregivers, longtime family friend, Sheila Blossom, Lawanda Fritts and Emily Fritts. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Kelly B Todd Cerebral Palsy Center in Muskogee. https://kbtoddcpcenter@gmail.com
