Jayne Griffin passed from this life to her heavenly home at the age of 96 on May 23, 2015. She was born September 3, 1918 in Park Hill, OK to Ben F. and Gulialma (Hinton) Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday May 28, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Jayne attended school in Park Hill, Owen School # 7, Bald Hill and graduating from Bagley High School in 1936. She married Clyde D. Southern Sr. in 1938 and gave birth to her son Clyde D. Southern Jr. in 1939. She married Ralph Fuller in 1941 and their daughter Linda Fuller was born in 1943. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tahlequah for 71 years. She loved her Sunday School class
Jayne was the great great granddaughter of Chief of the Cherokees John Ross. She loved working with the public. She was a waitress for numerous years and worked at the Tahlequah City Hospital in the admitting office. She loved being around people and helping them any way she could, she worked all of her life. She loved reading, especially her Bible until her eyesight began to fail.
Jayne was a loving mother and is survived by her daughter, Linda Fuller Jones of Tahlequah, a grandson Clyde D, Southern III.; two granddaughters, Lissa Hutcheson and husband Todd of San Diego, CA and Terrie Hall and husband John of Wake Forrest, NC; four great-grandchildren; one sister Helen Brandt and husband Carlin of Texas, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, 2 sister Frances Abel and Louise Stevenson Noss; and two brothers, Ben and Bob Jones. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
