Jesica Lee Phipps, Tahlequah resident, passed away Saturday August 29, 2015 in Tulsa, OK. She was 41 years of age.
Pallbearers will be Dale Hutchins, Seth Huntley, Phillip North, Jonathan Phipps, Sequoyah Pritchett and Gary Phipps. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Farmer, Ron Bywater, Don Price, David Geasland, Freddie Shade and
Reasor's Grocery.
Jesica was born August 1, 1974 in Tahlequah to Gary and Gene (Horsechief) Phipps. She grew up in Tahlequah and graduated from Tahlequah High School.
She went on to attend NSU graduating with a degree in Speech Pathology. Jesica loved attending Native American Pow Wows, doing genealogy, fishing and reading. She loved to travel. Her greatest joy was attending church.
She was proud of her Cherokee and Pawnee heritage. She had a kind, loving and giving spirit who enjoyed helping others. Jesica loved spending time with her nephew Tristyn.
Survivors include her parents Gary and Gene Phipps of Tahlequah; one brother Jonathan Levi Phipps and his wife Karma of Westville; sister Valerie Hubler Walters; one nephew Tristan Phipps; four aunts,
Lucinda Horsechief of Tahlequah, Neva Moore of Pawnee, Susan Mae Moore of Red Rock and Debra Linn and husband Bill of Colcord; three uncles Vance Olin Horsechief and wife Lela of Miami, Darrell Horsechief of Tahlequah
and Algar Horsechief and wife Geneva of Meramac; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Vance and Faye (Duncan) Horsechief and Johnnie and Vanila (Morphis) Phipps
and one aunt Nila Phipps.
