Jewel Lahti

Jewel Mae Lahti the daughter of William Lorenzo and Katheryn (Fields) Babcock was born February 25, 1934 in Coweta, Oklahoma and departed this life on August 2, 2018 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 8 days.

Jewel enjoyed life and she loved her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jewel was a caring and giving person. Her passion in life was taking care of people. She became a nurse and began taking care of patients at the hospitals. Later she moved into care taking and even at the age of 79 she was still working and taking care of patients younger than her. She enjoyed quilting and cooking and she loved her family with all her heart. Jewel touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Lahti; her sister Jennie Cook; and her brothers Jess Babcock, Joe Babcock, Jim Babcock and Johnny Babcock.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her daughters Judy Frazier and husband James Pilgrim of Tahlequah and Rhonda Barnes and wife Nancy Arbogast of Oregon; 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
