Jimmy Edwards

Jimmy Edwards was born in his parent's home on February 6, 1944, to Walton and Margie Edwards in Adair County, Oklahoma. He attended grade school at Rocky Mountain. After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, he attended Monroe Jr. High and McClain Senior High school.

Jimmy enlisted in the Army, where he was a paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After leaving the service, he met his wife Shirley Patterson, they married in March of 1966. They had two daughters, Angela Poteet and Teresa Edwards, and one grandson, Dyllan Poteet.

Jimmy enjoyed boating, scuba diving, hiking, fast cars, and most of all his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walton and Margie, and his brother Don Edwards.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Shirley of 57 years; his two daughters Angela Poteet and Teresa Edwards; and his grandson Dyllan Poteet.

Graveside services for Jimmy will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, at 2 pm at Caney Cemetery.
