Jo Ann McGrew

Jo Ann (Proctor) McGrew, age 79, of Claremore, Oklahoma passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Hart Funeral Home with Tom Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in the Proctor-Sanders Cemetery under the direction of the Hart Funeral Home.

Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2023 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home.

The family has suggested memorials to the Clarehouse and contributions may be left at the Hart Funeral Home.

Jo Ann McGrew, was born March 7, 1944, in Proctor, Oklahoma to Walter and Ada (Brown) Proctor. She grew up in Proctor and graduated from Westville High School, in 1962. Jo Ann, worked as a secretary, for Carrington Oil Company. She married Jack Martin and the couple moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to raise their family and then they later divorced. Jo Ann, went to work at USAA Bank, transferring to San Antonio, Texas and retiring after 12 years, in 2006. She married Bob McGrew and he preceded her in death. Jo Ann, moved to Claremore, Oklahoma where she currently resided. Jo Ann, was full of energy and always on the go! She loved cooking, nature, singing, traveling, walking, watching sports, especially the Spurs! She also adored her dog, Harlie.

Jo Ann loved her children! She poured her heart and soul into being a Mom! She was a wonderful grandmother and beamed with pride and joy when talking about all of her grandchildren. Jo Ann, always had a big smile and hug for everyone. She was a beautiful, sweet soul to everyone who met her. Jo Ann, had a strong faith in God and she led her life with grace, hope and love.

Family include six children Becky Martin and husband Don Veale, Joe Wayne Martin who preceded her in death, Brian Martin, Michael and wife Jenny Martin, Natalie and husband Chris Parker, and Jason Martin who also preceded her in death; grandchildren Preston Martin, Nathan Martin, Matthew Martin; step grandchildren Lawrie Veale, Cameron Parker and Casey Parker and two great grandsons Max Martin and Chase Brelsford. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by four siblings Mary Joyce Kindle, Jimmie Ruth Glass, Billie Sue Scott and Krit Proctor.

The family would like to thank Cura Hospice Clarehouse, and Jo Ann's private sitter, Kiona Reich, for the exceptional care they gave her.
