Joanne was born July 14, 1927, in Blackwell, OK to Claude Leon Simmons and Fern Heatherington (Rust) Simmons. She had two older brothers, Leon, and Ray. The family moved to Enid, OK when Joanne was 4 years old on July 18, 1931.
Joanne came to assurance of salvation early in her adult years. She grew in the knowledge that all blessing is in Jesus Christ, not only for eternity, but in the life lived on this earth.
Joanne married Bill Lee Richardson on June 15, 1947. They were blessed with two sons, Fred Leon and James Arthur, and one daughter Lydia Marie.
Joanne and Bill were active in Enid Bible Church during their forty years in Enid, and Joanne served as bookkeeper to Bill in his various business ventures.
In 1971, Bill and Joanne moved to Tahlequah to serve in the "Go Ye" Mission. During their time there, Bill was given the vision of building Go Ye Village, a Christian retirement community for seniors. Joanne lived out the rest of her life living in Go Ye Village and serving others.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, husband, daughter, and many other family members and friends. She is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and countless family members and friends.
