John Blackwood Jr.

John Blackwood Jr. the son of John Sr. and Lucy Adair Blackwood was born April 25, 1932 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this Life to be with his Lord and Savior on November 18, 2014 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 24 days.

John served his country proudly in the Army and Air Force. He retired from the military and spent the rest of his life serving the Lord in ministry. He was a Baptist preacher and loved traveling on different mission trips and ministries throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He had a special place in his heart for Bub his oldest grandson. He loved spending time with Bub, and he treated him as his own son. John enjoyed reading and studying Gods Word. He touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents his wife Sally Blackwood one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his children Sonny Hassel and wife Lorna of Vincent Town, NJ, Peggy Howard and husband Larry of Lakeland, FL, Lavina Ballard and husband Mike of Muskogee, Darlene Price and husband Dwayne of Stilwell and Kimberly Craig and husband Billy also of Stilwell a very special aunt Lydia Adair 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Numerous cousins, church family, friends and other relatives also survive him.
